A newsletter on progress-space research and audience development for cultural leaders. One reader calls it, "sometimes funny"

I’ll be speaking with Aubrey Bergauer this Friday, May 7th, at 12:30pm ET, and you’re welcome to join in on the call.

Aubrey was the executive director of the California Symphony before leaving in 2020 to launch the Center for Innovative Leadership at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

I invited Aubrey to speak with me about her new Comeback Planning Sprint — A five-part model that helps cultural leaders generate revenue during the transition from pandemic to… Well, I’m hesitant to say post-pandemic — Maybe less-pandemic times? You know what I mean.

The flywheel Aubrey’s developed is for leaders, staff, and board members of orchestras. However, I’m certain her ideas translate to museums and other cultural organizations, and Aubrey is well-aware that you all are mostly museum folks, so we’ll be framing our discussion in those terms. (Also, I know many of you are trying to find opportunities to draw inspiration and new ideas from other sectors — Aubrey is a master of doing just that, which is one reason why I love talking with her. ICYMI, here’s our last conversation on the topic of audience engagement.)
